  • In order to share North Sea hydrological and meteorological data within different countries, a European workshop has been formed called SeaNet. SeaNet is a European workshop program on fixed monitoring networks in the North Sea region. The objectives of the workshop include a homogenous distribution of fixed monitoring sites, promotion of online data exchange between fixed monitoring networks, and a standardization of data collection, processing methods and validation techniques. It is also designed to optimize cooperation in the development of new measuring techniques and sensors, and testing of existing sensors, the exchange of experience in data communications, and the exchange of experience in data collection, particularly on fixed structures.
