Definition
- The National Air Photo Library (NAPL) has over six million aerial photographs covering all of Canada, some dating back 70 years. Aerial photography has many practical applications such as in map-making, urban and rural planning, environmental impact studies, civil law cases, real estate evaluation, outdoor recreation and even as wall art. The Library, located in Ottawa, indexes and stores all federal aerial photography for Canada, and maintains a comprehensive historical archive and public reference centre. NAPL welcomes inquiries for information on how to obtain reproductions of these photographic images of Canada - past and present.
