Definition

  • The Missouri River InfoLINK is a program of the USGS Columbia Enviromental Research Center. The mission of the Missouri River InfoLINK is to enhance awareness and understanding of the Missouri River. The InfoLINK is for those who want to understand how the river functions and what important improvements need to be done about its maintenance. The Lower Missouri River Ecosystem Initiative (LMREI) began in 1994 at the U.S. Geological Survey Columbia Enviromental Research Center in Columbia, Missouri. The Goal is to partner with others to facilitate the transfer of Missouri River management agencies. LMREI want to create an information clearinghouse to serve as an access point for data and information. In 1998, LMREI was ended. Through additional partners, LMREI expanded its focus and soon became the Missouri River InfoLINK. Website: "http://infolink.cr.usgs.gov/" [Summary provided by the USGS.] (en)
