Definition
- Developing Use of Altimetry for Climate Studies (DUCAS) is a European project funded by the Environmental and Climate program, in the framework of the Centerfor Earth Observations. DUCAS is also partially funded by the Region Midi-Pyrenees. It is lead by Phillip Gasper, from CLS-Argos. Its aim is to develop altimetry applications for climate studies, and for climate prediction at timescales of seasons to years, in particular using coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation models. It thus develops both a Near-Real-Time altimeter data processing facility at CLS-Argos and climate applications in the four climate groups.
