STEP FREQUENCY RADIOMETERS

Definition

  • STEP FREQURNCY RADIOMETERS: (Background) Many spacecraft were launched from 1962 thru 1973 to record solar and cosmic radio bursts. The spacecraft carried receivers for various frequency ranges, and collected data intermittently over those years. Some of the spacecraft were intended primarily to observe cosmic sources, but solar bursts were not excluded. Many data sets from these space missions are held at NSSDC (National Space Science Data Center). These radiometers were of use on these space missions. (en)
