- An apparatus for the simultaneous continuous recording of the atmospheric electric potential gradient and the air-earth current is described. The CR constants are chosen in such a way that minor changes of the atmosphere electric elements in question are suppressed and the diurnal valuations can readily be seen from the records Modern technical means such as rex-channel recorders, electrometer tubes, and low loss cables make it possible to register a great range of potential gradient and air-earth current Moreover the apparatus is foolproof and convenient as to dimensions and weight so that it can be used on mountain observatories and expeditions without difficulty.
