- The UNEP-WCMC has been working with information on protected areas since 1981. Several databases and studies have been carried out over the years. They include: -Protected Areas Virtual Database -World Heritage Information Network -Protected Areas Resource Centre -Protected Areas Database and Internet Map Server -World Heritage Sites -Protected Areas of the Pacific Islands -Protected Areas of Malaysia There are several other reports available on the site.
