Definition
- The use of Newtonian mechanics to derive homogeneous and isotropic solutions of Einstein's field equations, which represent models of expanding Universe. The Newtonian cosmology deviates from the prediction of general relativity in the general case of anisotropic and inhomogeneous models. (en)
