Definition
- The Land Surface Hydrology Research Group at the University of Washington is made up of three faculty members, ten graduate students, and six research scientists and postdoctoral research associates. We are part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington. Our main research interest is modeling and predicting the role of land hydrology in the climate system, and understanding the nature of hydrologic variability and change as they are related to changing climate and land cover/land use. We do so through a combination of hydrologic modeling, and diagnosis of contemporary and retrospective in situ and remote sensing data. While much of our work is at regional, continental, and global scales, we also have modeling and prediction interests at the small watershed scale.
