  • Satellite Monitoring Laboratory is subdivision of the Institute of Automation and Control Processes of the Far East Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences; established at 1977. During the time, a large volume of scientific researches and engineer works in the sphere of Remote Sensing (RS) and Regional Satellite Monitoring of Environment (RSM) were completed. The great experience of RSM conducting was accumulated; and RSM technology for operative and retrospective support of science researches and some economic applications was developed. At 1999, the Inter-Institute Centre for the Satellite Monitoring of Environment was created and operated on the basis of the Laboratory. The main jobs of the Laboratory are: -Investigations in the fields of RS and RSM including a new scientific and economic application; -Upgrade of existent and development of new RSM methods, hardware, and software; -Carrying out basic and applied investigations of ocean/atmosphere natural processes and objects by means of RSM; -Information support of basic and applied researches at Far East Region (including maritime cruises support). -Scientist and engineers training.
