VERIDIAN/TERRAIN

Definition

  • Terrain Data, formally MRJ Technology Solutions, and the NASA Office of Earth Science have created a partnership to extend Earth Observing System (EOS) data to consumers of multi-spectral imagery derived terrain products. Terrain Data currently produces a digital terrain product using Landsat TM and panchromatic SPOT imagery as a primary data source. Imaging capabilities planned for the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection radiometer (ASTER) scheduled for launch aboard EOS-AM offer significant improvements. Terrain Datahas been designated as a Type 3 Working Proto-type Earth Science Information Partner (WP-ESIP) to investigate the application of ASTER data for producing enhanced terrain products. This work is supported by NASA Cooperative Agreement NCC5-319 which establishes Terrain Data as a WP-ESIP and charter member of the WP-ESIP Federation. Terrain Data is part of Veridian, "http://www.veridian.com/:.
