Definition
- The Western Diversity Time Series (formerly HyspIRI) campaign observes California’s ecosystems and provides critical information on natural disasters such as volcanoes, wildfires, and drought. WDTS aims to provide a benchmark on the state of ecosystems against which future changes can be assessed. WDTS, as its instruments identify vegetation type and health. The WDTS airborne campaign is a multi-year effort to collect seasonal visible to short wave infrared (VSWIR) spectrometer and thermal infrared (TIR) radiometer using both the Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) and the MODIS/ASTER Airborne Simulator (MASTER) remote sensing Instruments on a NASA ER-2 high-altitude platform.
