Definition
- The projects at the Environmental Information Lab (EIL) at the University of California, Santa Barbara are designed to advance the interdisciplinary field of environmental information science. This area of investigation includes the ongoing lifecycle of collection, classification, storage, retrieval, reprocessing, and dissemination of information for research in the environmental and earth sciences. In particular, we are developing a scalable infrastructure that allows small to mid-range research groups to act as data centers. Our computing facilities are designed to keep data products readily available online. [Summary provided by the University oi California, Santa Barbara.] (en)
