- Welcome to the University of Plymouth. Our aim is to become recognised as the enterprise university, delivering outstanding economic, social and cultural developments for students, staff, our community and the businesses and professions we serve. I am a Plymouth graduate myself and am particularly proud of our strong record of excellence and innovation across the teaching and research portfolios. We are a national pilot for two-year degrees and have four government-funded Centres for Excellence in Teaching & Learning - the maximum awarded to any university. With around 30,000 students, many of whom study at one of our partner colleges across the region, we pride ourselves on being a vibrant and friendly university where the student experience is paramount.
