Definition
- A Video Plankton Recorder consists of a single video camera and synchronized strobe that photographs a volume of water at a rate of 60 Hz. Images are transmitted to the surface via fiber-optic cable where time-code from a GPS system is added and data are archived on S-VHS videotape.
