Preferred term

CAR

Definition

  • The CAR project consists of many missions spanning the globe. The versatility of the CAR measurements has allowed for multiple missions investigating snow melt and albedo, air quality, ocean reflectance anisotropy and implications in ocean color remote sensing problems, radiative characteristics of clouds embedded in smoke, and changes in vegetation. Although the applications of the instrument and data have expanded over time, primary applications were for cloud diffusion domain studies and measurements of bidirectional reflectance. (en)
