  • Centre for Air Transport & the Environment (CATE) The Centre for Aviation Transport and the Environment is a multi-disciplinary research centre based at the Manchester Metropolitan University. The Centre's mission is to facilitate the integrated social, economic and environmental sustainability of the aviation industry through critical research and analysis, and through knowledge transfer between the academic, industry, regulatory and NGO sectors. CATE has an active portfolio of aviation-related research, with particular emphasis on the central and difficult issue of reconciling the rapid growth in global air transport with the imperatives of sustainable development.
