CA/ACZISC SECRETARIAT

Definition

  • In 1991, a workshop was organized by an agency of the Council of Maritime Premiers to further the process of regional cooperation related to coastal information management. The ACZISC was subsequently established in response to this need, as recommended by the workshop participants. The inaugural meeting of the Committee was held at the Secretariat of the Council of Maritime Premiers in Halifax, Nova Scotia in January 1992. Subsequently ACZISC meetings have been held three times per year in Atlantic provincial capitals by rotation. The meetings of the ACZISC are attended by members and by observers from all sectors, including students, community representatives, the private sector, etc. ACZISC Working Groups are established to address identified needs within the context of an Annual ACZISC Workplan.
