Concept information
Preferred term
ENLS
Definition
- The Earth Network Lightning Sensors (ENLS) have a unique sensor technology and patent pending system for the detection of lightning activity . This system has a broad frequency range extending from 1 Hz to 12 MHz which detects both in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning vs. competing lightning sensors operating in North America which are constrained to frequencies of up to just a few hundred kilohertz thus limiting in-cloud detection.
