Definition
- The Marine Technology Unit (MTU) operates within the Mediterranean Centre for Marine and Environmental Research and belongs to the Department of Natural Resources of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient?ficas, CSIC from now on). MTU carries out activities for the logistic and technological support of oceanographic vessels and polar stations, as well as for technological development in marine science. CSIC has become actively involved in a significant stake in the future by supporting R+D+I through MTU, which will undoubtedly lead to the definitive takeoff of the Spanish oceanographic research.
