RAWINSONDES
Definition
- RAWINSONDES are an upper-air sounding that includes determination of wind speeds and directions. In the past, data was collected by tracking a balloon-borne radiosonde with a radio direction finder. Nowadays, GPS or Loran radio navigation signals measure position or radiosonde velocity. (en)
