  • In partnership with the people of Saskatchewan, we have the provincial responsibility to manage, develop and protect Saskatchewan?s resources - fish, wildlife, lands, forests, parks and protected areas, air, water and soils - for conservation, economic, recreation and social purposes and to ensure they are sustained for future generations. Saskatchewan has adopted several long-term goals respecting our resources and environment: protecting our primary resources - air, water, and soil; maintenance of biological diversity and the sustainable use of renewable resources and ecosystems; wise use of non-renewable resources; meeting national and global responsibilities; and contributing to economic and social sustainability. Our responsibilities encompass the entire province. Protection of our primary resources - Air, Land and Water involves regulatory and non-regulatory controls. Information on environmental quality, air issues, hazardous substances and waste, aquatic habitat, recycling, solid waste and water and wastewater are profiled.
