- Mission: To improve the public health through enhanced understanding of how oceanic processes affect the distribution and persistence of human pathogens and toxin producing organisms. The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Environmental Health Services (NIEHS), one of the National Institutes of Health, are funding four joint Centers for Oceans and Human Health (COHH, http://www.whoi.edu/science/cohh/).
