  • The Science Support Partnership (SSP) along side the USGS, provide the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) Information to manage the nations resources more effectively. This program has been around since the year 2001 having devoted $3.4 million annually to the SSP program. The USGS has involved them selves with over 165 projects in support of FWS national and local programs. Each year both the USGS and FWS meet together to develop and plan. Based on what is discussed in these meetings, nationwide calls for proposals are made. The FWS regions and the Washington Office review and prioritize how the funds will be distributed to recommended projects.
