Definition
- Phylum Phoronida. Commonly called Horeshoe worms are hermaphroditic, marine, benthic, suspension feeding vermiform animals distringuished with a looped digestive tract and the anus is located close to the mouth. Adult Phoronida live in chitinous tube attached or burrowed in a hard substrate with lophophore, ciliated feeding structure, surrounding the mouth. (en)
