Definition
- The Surface Moisture Index incorporates remote measures of vegetation condition coupled with radiometric thermal (temperature) data to characterize surface moisture conditions. It is mapped using two primary inputs; vegetation status as depicted by Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and surface temperature. (en)
