Definition

  • The Active Tectonics, Quantitative Structural Geology and Geomorphology Research Group at Arizona State University is supervised by Dr. J. Ramón Arrowsmith. Currently, the research spans two continents and several disciplines of geology and geomorphology. The unique multi-disciplinary approach of this group has provided novel ways of viewing and analyzing geological problems. These methods include field data collection using traditional geologic mapping, Global Positioning System mapping, high-resolution TOTAL system surveying and many different types of remote sensing data. These data are analyzed in a quantitative way using Boundary Element Methods, Geographic Information Systems, and Remote Sensing software. (en)
