Definition

  • Regional Aquifer System Analysis Program (RASA) is a National Program which reports provide the results of studies of regional groundwater systems. The studies concern the occurence, movement, and quality of groundwater in major aquifer systems. The objective of the RASA Program is to define the regional geohydrology and establish a framework of background information--geologic, hydrologic, and geochemical--that can be used for regional assessment of ground-water resources and in support of detailed local studies. The project began in 1978 and was completed in 1995. For more information, link to "http://water.usgs.gov/ogw/rasa/html/TOC.html" [Summary provided by USGS] (en)
