  • The Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences (EIS) was established at Yokohama National University in April 2001, and designed to promote practical education and research for a fused interdisciplinary field of environmental issues, which needs rapid responses, and the area of advanced information science. The former Division of Artificial Environment and Systems in the Graduate School of Engineering and the former Institute of Environmental Science and Technology were progressively consolidated into the EIS, as well as were assembled into related study fields involved in the Faculty of Engineering, Education and Human Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration. The EIS is a wholly independent graduate school, and composed of an educational division,the Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences, and a research division, the Faculty of Environment and Information Sciences.
