Definition
- The Antarctic Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Institute (A3RI) came into being upon formal approval by Dean Virginia Hinshaw, Graduate School, University of Wisconsin-Madison in June 2000. Mission The mission of A3RI is to: * conduct and promote astrophysical research, particularly on and involving the continent of Antarctica; * integrate the resources of the UW-Madison campus to bring an interdisciplinary approach to Antarctic astrophysical research; * exert leadership in the international astrophysical community.
