- This research network aims to provide an integrated research effort that will improve our general understanding of how mercury is transmitted and accumulates in our ecosystem. Studies have revealed a rise in mercury levels in a number of freshwater fish species. The network will attempt to assess the causes of this contamination and its possible health consequences.
