GEOMAGNETIC STORM
Definition
- Any type of rapidly varying perturbation to Earth's magnetic field caused by electric current flowing in the magnetosphere and ionosphere. Geomagnetic Storm Advisory will incorporate information on geomagnetic storms that may interfere with some technology, including satellite communications. (en)
