DEWPOINT HYDROMETERS
Definition
- DEWPOINT HYDROMETERS are instruments used for determining the dewpoint (the temperature at which a given air parcel must be cooled at constant pressure and constant water vapor in order for saturation to occur); a small temperature sensor is embedded on the underside of a mirror and the electro-optical system is used to detect the formation of condensate or dew; specular reflectance of the bare mirror decreases the dew layer thickness.
