The Environmental Monitoring and Compliance Division of the Nova Scotia
Department of Environment and Labour is responsible for the majority of

to public issues and complaints. These services of the Environmental Monitoring
and Compliance Division are available through their regional and district
offices network.

In addition, the Solid Waste-Resource Management branch of the Environmental
Monitoring and Compliance Division is responsible for a number of initiatives
including: recycling, composting, disposal bans and as well as the Nova Scotia
Solid Waste Strategy.
