skos:definition """The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center, NWAC, prepares and disseminates
mountain weather and avalanche danger forecasts. To make this possible, the
NWAC also manages a comprehensive nework of automated mountain weather
stations, collecting hourly data from a variety of elevations and geographic
locations within the Olympics and Cascades of Washington and northern ... Oregon
from November through April. These data include: hourly temperature, wind,
precipitation, snow depth, and relative humidity from remote automated sensors;
and daily observations of weather, snow, and avalanches from field observers.

NWAC prepares the daily forecasts from November through April. These forecasts
include: summaries with micro- and meso-scale forecasts, snowpack analysis,
avalanche forecast advisory, and hazard assessment.

Forecasts are available on-line through a computerized bulletin board, as well
as on Internet and phone recordings.

Cooperators of NWAC's program have free access to all data and forecasts. Other
users will be charged a fee depending upon the work involved in fullfilling the
request.
