Education in geomatic related fields is offered through the Department
of Geography. The Department of Geography at SFU offers undergraduate
and graduate training leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts,
Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Science and Doctor of
Philosophy. Major areas of study in the department include spatial
information systems, computer cartography and remote sensing,
biogeography, geomorphology, climatology, economic geography, and
cultural (historical) geography. Considerable overlap exists among
faculty research interests, which allows for bridging of these
separate research streams to reinforce the integrative nature of
geographic inquiry.

University are available at "http://www.sfu.ca/rs/"; and the spatial information
systems teaching and research activities
